The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. is in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection through a government-business initiative named Customs - Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
The purpose for our involvement in this program is to build strong cooperative relationships with U.S. Customs while improving the overall international supply chain and U.S. border security for all imported shipments initiated by our company. As a result, NMG must ensure that all new and existing U.S. Customs mandatory supply chain security requirements are being met internally and by our business partners abroad.
What to Expect
As required, NMG must visit their business partners once every three years and perform an on-site review to ensure that the information your company provided on the C-TPAT Vendor Questionnaire is physically validated by our Government Compliance Department.
When NMG contacts your company for an appointment, please be aware that we will request:
- A walk through of the manufacturing facility to ensure the integrity of the security practices
- A review of company employment practices
- A review of safety practices for employees
Please know that these visits are not intended to be intrusive. They are simply to show that NMG only partners with manufacturers that have implemented the highest level of cargo security and employment practices possible.
Vendor Requirement
Vendors are required to review and complete the C-TPAT Vendor Questionnaire prior to our visit. The questionnaire is a simple yes/no response form covering:
- The physical security of your facility in which goods are packed for shipping
- Access controls to this facility
- Procedural and personnel security practices
- Container security practices, training, and education
Once this document has been completed, please forward to the Foreign Buying Office (FBO) that corresponds with your company on our behalf. Click Here if you are unsure of which FBO to contact.
NMG Import Vendor Questionnaire
To better prepare your company for our visit, we have provided you with a copy of the NMG Import Vendor Questionnaire (Apparel and Textiles or Accessories and Home) we will cover with your company. This document will be completed during our visit and kept on file with our Government Compliance Department for a period of 5 years.
